My experience with Eric from Scissor Doctor was one of amazement and 100% satisfaction. I needed servicing on my... Japanese metal shears and also a pair of thinning shears. In short, all aspects of the service exceeded my expectations in every way, from the results of the sharpening service, pricing, to turnaround time. Details of each aspect below.Sharpening service - My regular cutting shears came back razor sharp and cut like brand new. Smooth cutting action, quiet and glides like as it was cutting through air while producing results as if cutting for the first time. My thinning shears unfortunately had bent teeth's and were snagging/ripping hair when I brought it in for servicing and Eric attempted to repair/sharpening but due to the amount of damage I had already done to the teeth, it was not repairable but regardless, he still attempted to service it in ever aspect from sharpening, adjustment to the tension and every service that can be done so it can serve as a backup thinning shear.Pricing - While browsing on his website, it did not provide a set pricing and it showed a range pricing, once the specific service was discussed and agreed upon, the quoted price was absolutely reasonable so please do not let his website's "range" pricing discourage you from considering his service. What left even more of a memorable impression was the fact that upon picking up my shears, the pricing was adjusted based on to the actual produced result of the service as to the quoted service. While in my case, it was a better pricing due to my thinning shears being bent, but Eric did still attempt to repair and sharpen the shears, however he adjusted the final pricing as he was not able to sharpen even though it was no fault of his at all. While each person's experience will be unique and dependent upon the circumstances, but a most noteworthy part of my experience and a most definite long lost respectable business practice lost.Turnaround time - provided a 24 hour turnaround time, very very quick and most accommodating to my schedule for pickup time. Absolutely no complaints and extremely satisfied.read more

Eric, aka Scissor Doctor, restored a pair of work scissors that belonged to my late father.He worked at Pacific Bell.... We had a few pairs of these grwoung up in our home. My mom gave me a pair. They would not cut they were a mess. I found Eric online and asked if they could refurbished. He said he would do his best. They came back to me like new. I have an emotional tie to these scissors, not weird, they fill the void of me missing my family. Eric said they should be used but I want to carry them with me everyday. Funny and strange i know. Who knew a pair of scissors could bring you peace and happiness. If you have a special pair of scissors I highly recommend him. His service and craftsmanship was beyond my expectations. As a stylist having sharp shears is a must. As a sharkfin shear owner I have to use someone certified through them to... keep my warranty. Well, I’ve been holding off getting my favorite go to swivel shears sharpened because they are my fave and a day without them is a sad day! I contacted Sharkfin and I was referred to Eric. I contacted him immediately and he not only had my shears in his hand less then an hour later, but I had them back the next morning! His professionalism, promptness, and skill set is setting the bar high!!! Great job and very reasonable prices.Eric took my shears on a weekend, had me drop them off at his home and had them... ready the next day.I've been waiting to post a review as I haven't really put them to work since I picked them up for more than snipping thread. I just used them to trim 4 layers of salvage from the edge of a blanket that I was squaring up and they handled it effortlessly!!!These technically are not even that great a set of scissors, but are one of my favorite as they are so comfortable in the hand, so I'm doubly thrilled that Eric was able to extend their life for me!!! 😁read more

I am thrilled with Eric’s level of service AND his expertise. We are from out of town and we’re only in Vegas for the... night and Eric was kind enough to meet us on a Saturday to have my wife’s grooming shears sharpened. She is a new groomer and didn’t know much about the process and Eric took the time to explain and teach her about what to look for. I have upholstery shears .A few months back I tried getting them sharpened by a shop and got them back but they... wouldn’t cut tried another guy to fix them still turned out bad $86 later I made one more attempt and called the scissor doctor. Best scissor doctor ever !!! Not only sharpening, he knows the scissors in and out. Finds what's wrong with sheers and... fixed them. My scissors are now better than when I bought them as new. Eric is fantastic! So happy I found him. Im a groomer and work at a vet hospital. He made my shears cut like a dream,... better now then when I first purchased them! This guy knows what he's doing on scissor work I have never been so satisfied with my scissors and my hands don't hurt... as much as they use to they are really sharp and smooth. His work is awesome and 100%. if anything happens he's always there to fix them. We do dog grooming, for 25 years plus!! If you groom pets, I do not recommend. He charges premium price and has VERY... LITTLE experience with pet blades. He told me this AFTER I had to call back. Blades are not clean, still dirt and rust, not oiled and are not sharp.read more
